Question – In your opinion, what will happen next between North Korea and the United States?
In my opinion, I think that the US and NK will continue to threaten each other. But China is NK’s important ally, so if China continues to support NK, the US and NK fight may continue. If China refuses to provide resources to NK, NK will probably feel helpless and stop threatening the US. I think that China will refuse to trade because China has urged the two countries to reduce tensions. (Lindsey L.)
In my opinion, North Korea will eventually back down from their missile threats. Due to the harsh sanctions, NK will have to consider their options. If they provoke the US further and start a war, SK could easily send in troops and gather information for the US. The US military arsenal is probably as strong if not stronger than NK’s. Because of this and China refusing to trade, cutting most of NK’s food, even for high ranking officers, I believe NK will choose to back down from war and take back their threats. (Daniel)
In my opinion, I think China will stop selling supplies to NK and I think NK will realize that they can’t survive without their “greatest ally China”. Then the US and NK will stop their “war of words” and listen to China “calling for calm”. (Ella)
